Education - Professional Auctioneer Designations

Master Personal Property Appraiser (MPPA)
The National Auctioneers Association created the Master Personal Property Appraiser (MPPA) professional designation to provide GPPA Auctioneers with advanced training in appraisals. Only GPPA designees can apply for the MPPA designation. Candidates are instructed on how to conduct and complete compliant appraisals. MPPA candidates can specialize in one or more of the following areas: antiques and estate, industrial machinery and equipment, construction and agricultural equipment, or small business valuations.
MPPA candidates must submit additional coursework in appraisals or proof of previous appraisal experience. Applicants must complete a four-page application that is reviewed by a peer review committee. USPAP training must be completed and supporting materials of upper-level appraisal work must be submitted.
