NAA to discontinue auction calendar Dec. 31, 2015
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (Dec. 9, 2015) — The National Auctioneers Association has announced that as of Dec. 31, 2015, it will discontinue the use of the NAA Auction Calendar.
As members are aware, NAA has used the past couple of years to develop and hone its vision, which is that NAA members will be the preferred auction professionals used in the marketplace. From that vision came Pathways to 2020, the strategic plan formed to focus NAA’s direction, energy and resources toward accomplishing the vision. With that in mind, the NAA Board of Directors voted at its October meeting to make the decision the use of the NAA Auction Calendar.
Within Pathways to 2020 planning discussions, it became prudent and imperative that decisions be made in the interest of best spending our staff and financial resources. With that in mind, at this time, the Board does not believe that an auction calendar is the most efficient vehicle for NAA to use in furthering its core initiatives.
NAA would like to clearly state three items:
1) This decision is not a step for NAA to develop a new auction calendar OR an online bidding platform.
2) This decision is not a reflection of any discontent with LuJohns, the company that built and hosted the NAA calendar.
3) NAA has compiled a list of several vendors that may provide alternate calendar solutions. These include:
Global Auction Guide
Global Auction Solutions
Lands Of America
LuJohns Enterprises Inc.
K-BID Online, Inc.
NAA is committed to its core strategic initiatives, and it will continue to maintain and pursue excellence in its education, promotions, and advocacy efforts. These three initiatives represent the areas where NAA can have the greatest impact in ensuring that the auction method of marketing maintains its stronghold as the most fun, fast and transparent way for consumers to convert their assets.
