Conference and Show Awards and Honors
International Auctioneers Championship
Each contestant in the International Auctioneers Championship contest - men's and women's divisions - is judged on style, chant, presence and persuasive sales ability by a panel of auctioneer judges. Contestants showcase their vocal skills by auctioning off three items each. Along with their titles, eachwinner will receive $10,000 in prize money, a championship trophy and signature ring. They will spend the next year in the spotlight, making a variety of public appearances on behalf of the auction industry, and the NAA
Each year, the NAA, the world's largest professional auctioneers association, accepts nominations for its Hall of Fame recognition. Criteria for the recognition includes:
- Contributions made to the auction profession
- Involvement with the NAA
- Involvement in state auctioneers associations
- Community involvement/activities
The NAA began this revered program in 1961 to bring visibility and pay tribute to longstanding members who have made significant contributions to the auction industry. To date, more than 100 members have been inducted into the Hall of Fame.
President's Award of Distinction
The NAA Board of Directors established the President's Award of Distinction in 2002 to honor those members whose conduct has distinguished the auction profession or the National Auctioneers Association within a two-year period. The award is bestowed on receipients during the annual Auctioneers Conference and Show.
Gavel Club
The Gavel Club honors individual NAA members that have recruited or sponsored new members. It also honors auction schools that have promoted NAA in their sessions. These sponsorships are tracked throughout the year and celebrated at a luncheon during the annual Conference and Show.
International Ringman Championship (IRC).
In conjunction with the National Auctioneers Foundation (NAF) Benefit Auction, the IRC is a unique and exciting competition that features the Ringman's skill and expertise and brings a new element to NAA's conference and show. The IRC champion will receive a personalized public relations program developed by NAA (more details to come soon), a trophy and championship ring sponsored by the Professional Ringmen's Institute.
International Junior Auctioneers Championship
For the first time, the NAA's youngest Auctioneers will compete in a bid calling contest in front of a live audience.
This junior-level competition is open to auctioneers 12 - 21 years old. Each contestant will sell two items in the preliminaries held on Wednesday, July 18. The top three contestants from the preliminary round will compete in the final round on Friday, July 20, prior to the start of the IAC. Finalists will sell two items and will be asked one pre-published interview question. The winner of the International Junior Auctioneer Championship will be announced at the conclusion of the IAC Finals on Friday evening. Through the IJAC, the NAA gives young Auctioneers an opportunity to demonstrate pride in the auction industry while developing pride in themselves.
Marketing Competition Winners
Each year, the NAA holds a competition for its members to allow them to face off in a competition against their colleagues, and vie for top awards for their marketing materials and programs.More than 100 categories make up the competition with three divisions: Photography, Advertising/Public Relations and Auction of the Year.
