Auction Firns Show Success of Selling Simultaneously on the Internet

OVERLAND PARK, KS - More auction companies today are selling simultaneously onsite and online as they broadcast auctions live on the Internet. Several companies are strong examples of recent success.

Aumann Auctions, of Nokomis, IL sold more than 17 percent of items in its June 15th petroliana auction on the Internet. Highlights from their auction include a Lincoln Sales and Service Sign, which sold for $4,000 online. A Buck's Brilliantene Oil porcelain flange sign commanded $1,900.

"The June 15th auction was great both online and onsite, and the amount of pre-bidding that took place was fantastic," said Matt Corso, chief operating officer of Aumann Auctions.

BidItBob, owned by Bob Hergenreder of Scottsbluff, NE, continues to post incredibly strong Internet sales, with more than 60 percent of their largest June auction sold online.

Beloit Auctions, of Beloit, WI registered 164 online bidders for their monthly estate auction. The Internet contributed in excess of 500 bids, which resulted in a sell-through of more than 29 percent online.

"This type of selling brings a whole new dimension to our auctions," said Rich Ranft, President of Beloit Auction & Realty.

These companies used Proxibid to conduct their Internet auctions. Several other companies provide webcast services also.
