Golf resort to be sold at auction

MUSKEGON, Mich. (AP) _ A federal judge has ordered the financially troubled Double JJ Ranch, Waterpark and Golf Resort to be sold at auction on Oct. 30.

U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Jeffrey Hughes issued the ruling on Thursday.

A court-appointed bankruptcy trustee originally had sought an Oct. 2 sale but requested a four-week delay to allow potential buyers a better chance to examine the property.

The 2,000-acre resort was the site of the inaugural Rothbury music festival this summer.

Double JJ's financial problems stem from a $17.1 million construction loan that came due earlier this year. It was for the construction of its indoor water park and the first phase of a condominium hotel.

The resort is worth an estimated $33.3 million.
