Four auctioneers inducted into NAA Hall of Fame at annual conference
On July 11, 2019, during the President’s Gala of the 70th Annual International Auctioneers Conference & Show, four auctioneers were inducted into the National Auctioneers Association (NAA) Hall of Fame.
NEW ORLEANS, La. (July 11, 2019) - During this year’s annual President’s Gala at the 70th Annual International Auctioneers Conference & Show, four auctioneers were inducted into the National Auctioneers Association (NAA) Hall of Fame. Inductees include: Merle D. Booker, CAI, GPPA, of Booker Auction Co., of Eltopia, Washington; David W. Huisman, CAI, of Huisman Auctions, Inc., of Elk Grove, California; the late J. Scott King, CAI, AARE, AMM; and Christie King, CAI, AMM, BAS of C. King Benefit Auctions, LLC, of Gadsden, Alabama.
Inductees are not notified before receiving the Hall of Fame honor; this year’s recipients were surprised on stage by family and friends. This was especially poignant for honoree Christie King, who was aware that her late brother was being inducted, but had no idea that she, too, was receiving the NAA’s highest honor.

The NAA Hall of Fame was established in 1961 as a way to recognize leaders within the auction industry. Inductees receive plaques that are displayed in the National Auctioneers Museum located at NAA headquarters in Overland Park, Kansas.
