OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – After serving one year as NAA Vice President, Scott H. Shuman, CAI, officially took office as National Auctioneers Association President on Thursday, July 13, during the NAA International Auctioneers Conference and Show, held July 11-15 in Columbus, Ohio.
Shuman’s term is effective from now until the 2018 Conference and Show next July. He succeeds John Nicholls, who becomes Past President for the same upcoming term.
“It is important for you to realize what a great honor you have given me today,” Shuman told a full house of attendees at the Annual Business Meeting held Thursday morning. “I don’t take this lightly. I look around and realize how fortunate I am to be surrounded by people who care about this industry.
“I care, too. And because of our commitment, I am convinced that NAA will continue down its path of success.”
Shuman also is a Real Estate Partner and Auction Specialist with Hall and Hall, in Eaton, Colorado, which means his schedule will be tightly packed for the next year as he attends NAA events and meetings, attends and speaks at various state auction association conferences, and helps lead directional thinking for both the NAA and the auction industry.
