About the instructor

Shawn Terrel, CAI, AARE
Shawn Terrel is the president of United Country Real Estate | Auction Services and brings an extensive auction background to the executive management team. Shawn has more than 25 years of professional real estate and auction experience and has facilitated over 4,000 auction events across the country.  He has become recognized as one of the industry’s authorities on conducting online auctions and live internet auction simulcasts during his career.

Shawn oversees auction operations for the largest fully integrated real estate and auction organization.  In this position he develops and implements systematic auction programs, technology, marketing and business consulting solutions for over 5,500 real estate and auction professionals across the United States, as well as Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama and Honduras. 

Shawn Terrel is a former Board of Director of the National Auctioneers Association and a past president of the Oklahoma State Auctioneers Association. He holds the title of Champion bid calling auctioneer in multiple states tours the country as a professional speaker and advocate for the auction industry. Shawn is a graduate of the Certified Auctioneers Institute (CAI) at Indiana University and holds the Accredited Auctioneer Real Estate (AARE) designation as well as the United Country Master Auctioneer (UCMA) designation. He is graduate of the Missouri Auction School and is a certified instructor at the Texas Auction Academy.  Shawn teaches “business planning” at the Certified Auctioneers Institute at Indiana University.

In addition, Shawn is the chief operations officer of Mineral Marketing LLC, a nationwide oil and gas marketing company which specializes in mineral rights sales and leasing strategies.  He has participated in petroleum energy auction marketing events which have exceeded $57 million dollars in single day activity.  Mineral Marketing LLC is active in most major oil & gas plays across the U.S.
