Exploring Auction House Operations

What does a successful auction house look like today? Travel (virtually) to Christy’s of Indiana to experience a day in the auction business of an auction house. You’ll see bidding by the general public and the inner workings of a diversified auction company that specializes in personal property, real estate, and online auctions with a foundation in fundraising and non-profit events. Get the inside scoop on a system of orchestrating people, equipment, and products to maximize profits and a strategy for remaining relevant in an uncertain environment.

Upon completing this class, you will be able to:
  1. Identify opportunities to assist clients in the disposal of personal property
  2. Explain the importance of a system in orchestrating the right products to maximize profits
  3. Describe the logistics of running an auction house with people, equipment, and products
  4. Explain the importance of customer service and current market conditions in selling and fundraising
