Born, Bought, or Built: Ensuring a Business with a Future

Long-term sustainability is important for business success. How to start or grow your business with the end goal in mind of selling the business, passing the business to the next generation, or liquidating the business at retirement is an essential key to that success. This class is an open forum to discuss building a future legacy for your business. Hear from and ask questions of industry experts that have built an auction business from scratch, bought an existing business, or have taken over the family business.

Upon completing this class, you will be able to:

  1. Plan a course of action to build your business towards a future goal of selling or passing down
  2. Take steps towards hiring the correct legal counsel to get started
  3. Describe what contracts are needed to complete the process
  4. Implement this idea into your business plan as a long-term or short-term goal
