Building a Stronger Voice for the Auction Industry
Advocacy starts long before a vote is taken. It starts when people understand who auction professionals are, how our industry works and why our voice belongs in the conversation.
The National Auction Association works year-round to strengthen the auction industry’s voice with policymakers, the public and the communities our members serve.
Two national initiatives help bring that work to life. National Auctioneers Week gives us a coordinated opportunity to celebrate the profession and tell our story. National Auction Advocacy Week takes that story directly to lawmakers and helps auction professionals build relationships with the people making decisions that can affect our industry.
National Auctioneers Week
Raise the visibility of the auction profession, celebrate the people behind it and help more people understand the value auction professionals bring to clients, businesses and communities.
National Auction Advocacy Week
Turn awareness into influence by connecting auction professionals with members of Congress and congressional staff in their home districts.
Put the auction profession in the spotlight.
Each spring, National Auctioneers Week brings auction professionals across the country together to celebrate the profession and help more people understand what modern auction professionals do.
It is a week to share the stories behind the businesses, careers, clients and communities that make up our industry. Members are encouraged to showcase their work, highlight the people they serve and give others a better understanding of the auction method of marketing.
NAA supports the effort with ready-to-use graphics, social media content, video prompts and other materials designed to make participation easy.
The goal is bigger than a week of posts. Every story shared helps build a clearer picture of an industry rooted in expertise, entrepreneurship, trust and results.
Help us tell the story.
National Auctioneers Week becomes more powerful when members across the country add their voices. NAA provides the tools. You make them meaningful by sharing your work, your people and the impact auctions have in your community.
Know the Dates
Watch for the current year’s National Auctioneers Week dates and make plans for how you or your business will participate.
Use the Toolkit
NAA provides graphics, suggested social media copy, video ideas and other resources to make it easy to join the campaign.
Make It Your Own
Tell your story. Highlight a colleague. Share an auction success. Give your community a closer look at the people behind the profession.
The more people who understand our industry, the stronger our ability to protect and advance it.
Take the auction industry’s story to Congress.
Every August, members of Congress leave Washington and spend time in their home districts. National Auction Advocacy Week makes sure auction professionals are part of those conversations.
NAA members meet locally with members of Congress and congressional staff to explain how the auction industry works, discuss the issues affecting their businesses and build relationships that can matter when legislation is being considered.
These meetings give lawmakers something a policy brief alone cannot: a direct connection to the people whose businesses, employees, clients and communities may be affected by the decisions they make.
You do not need to be a policy expert or have previous advocacy experience. You simply need to be willing to tell your story. NAA provides the preparation, materials and support.
Bring your voice to the table.
NAA helps participants prepare from start to finish. Members bring the most important part of the conversation: firsthand experience of what it means to work in the auction industry.

We tell our story.
National Auctioneers Week raises awareness of the profession and gives members an opportunity to show the public who auction professionals are and the value they provide.
We take that story to policymakers.
National Auction Advocacy Week turns awareness into influence by helping auction professionals build direct relationships with the elected officials who represent them.
Advocacy doesn’t only happen in Washington.
It happens when auction professionals tell their stories, share their expertise and help others understand the industry we represent. Every conversation builds awareness. Every relationship strengthens our credibility. And every member who participates makes the auction industry’s voice stronger.
