Established in 1988, the International Auctioneer Championship (IAC) is the premier competition recognizing the finest talent in the auction industry. The inaugural IAC Champion was Paul C. Behr, CAI, of Denver, CO. In 1994, Marcy Goldring of Farmington, IL, made history as the first female IAC Champion with the introduction of men’s and women’s divisions. Representing a wide range of specialties—including livestock, auto, real estate, and benefit auctions—IAC competitors exemplify the highest standards of professionalism and skill. The IAC competition takes place annually during the NAA Conference & Show, making it one of the most prestigious and anticipated events of the auction industry calendar. Earning the IAC title is one of the most prestigious honors an auctioneer can achieve.
