Michael Parker

Michael is a second-generation Auctioneer. Michael began working auctions with his father in the 1970s. Michael obtained his auction license in 1982 (NCAL #2714) after attending Mendenhall School of Auctioneering. Michael founded AB Parker & Son Auctioneers, in 1982 and sold estates, business liquidations, and real estate while attending NC State University. After marrying in 1986, Michael created Parker Auction & Realty Service, Inc. (PARS) with his wife and father. Michael worked with PARS through the mid-1990s, putting himself through law school and his wife through graduate school. In 2011, Michael founded Parker Benefit Auctions (PBA) specializing in fundraising for non-profit organizations across North Carolina. Michael obtained the prestigious Benefit Auctioneer Specialist (BAS) certification from the National Auctioneer’s Association in 2011. Michael is a licensed fundraising consultant by the North Carolina Secretary of State’s Office. Michael currently works with his wife and son, Matthew (NCAL #9883), in PBA.

Michael is a lifetime member of the Auctioneer’s Association of North Carolina (AANC) and currently serves as President. Michael is a member of the National Auction Association, holding the BAS certification. Michael routinely teaches auction courses on the state and national stage, both for the NAA, AANC, Carolina Auction Academy and continuing education courses for the NC Auctioneer Licensing Board. In January 2024, Michael was inducted into the Auctioneer’s Association of North Carolina’s Auctioneer Hall of Fame. In January 2025, Michael and Matthew Parker won the first Auction Team Competition hosted by the Auctioneer’s Association of North Carolina and Michael was elected President of the Association. Michael currently conducts fundraising auctions and galas across North Carolina, teaches, consults, and conducts fundraising training for non-profits and their Board of Directors.
