The responsibilities of an Education Monitor typically include:
- Arrive 10 minutes early to meet the presenter and prepare the room.
- At the start, share housekeeping remarks from the binder, including CE check-in instructions.
- Introduce the presenter(s) using the C&S app (or briefly if no bio is available) or allow them to introduce themselves.
- Manage the microphone for audience questions.
- During the session, take a headcount and note any feedback or questions in the binder form.
- At the end, thank the speaker(s), check in CE attendees using the app, and leave the binder in the room.
Sign-Up Instructions
- Review the sessions below and select any that you'd like to monitor.
- If you can select the session, then it still needs a volunteer - please sign up!
- If you can no longer attend, swap with someone or remove your name and email education@auctioneers.org as soon as possible.
Important Notes
- Once C&S begins on July 15, this sign-up will not be monitored.
- If you cannot attend, notify us at least 2 hours in advance (if possible) and/or find a replacement and email us their name.
Mandatory Training
- Virtual training: Wednesday, July 7 at 12 PM EST
- Duration: 30 minutes
- Covers: Session Q&A moderation, CE check-in (using the C&S app), and key day-of instructions.

- Opening Day Crowd Control
- Responsibilities may include:
- Greet attendees and help direct them to the registration desk in The Block.
- Responsibilities may include:
- Welcome Fiesta Set-Up, Ticket Takers & Crowd Control
- Support NAA Staff as needed with set-up for the Welcome Fiesta, which begins at 6 PM.
- Responsibilities may include:
- Keeping attendees out of the expo hall or greeting them when doors open.
- Moving/lifting furniture or materials.
- Helping answer one-off event-related questions.
- Changing table linens and/or tidying in the expo hall
- Checking credentials and guiding those who have questions about tickets or admission.
- Alerting the NAA Staff to any concerns.
- State Photos Set-Up And Execution Support
- Responsibilities may include:
- Carrying and arranging State Association flags.
- Setting up defined areas for groups to wait.
- Rearranging pre-existing furniture.
- Keeping attendees out of the area or directing groups as needed.
- Helping to keep timing on track and informing state leaders of any changes.
- Responsibilities may include:
- Children's Auction Support
- Responsibilities may include:
- Support setting out the auction items.
- Helping kids look through auction items to pick the one they want to sell, helping kids wait in line to sell next, help pack up leftover items.
- Responsibilities may include:
- Main Events Ticket Takers + Crowd Control
- Responsibilities may include:
- Checking attendee credentials and guiding those who don't have tickets.
- Assist attendees in finding their seats.
- Keep attendee traffic moving and direct people to other locations, if needed.
- Responsibilities may include:
- NAF & NextGen Lounge Booth Representative
- Responsibilities may include:
- Answering questions about the Foundation and Legacy Youth Scholarship Committee
- Encouraging interested youth to apply for scholarships
- Encouraging members to donate and demonstrating how to do so.
- Prompting people to look through the virtual museum kiosk
- Responsibilities may include:
- CAI Booth Representative
- Responsibilities may include:
- Answering questions about the CAI program, experience, or application process.
- Encouraging those interested to complete a pre-application to attend.
