Our Commitment to Protecting Your Privacy Online
The National Auction Association (NAA) respects the privacy of its members and other visitors to its website. NAA strongly believes that for electronic engagement and online services to thrive, users must be confident that information provided online is handled responsibly and appropriately. To protect your privacy, NAA has implemented the following policy.
What Information Does NAA Collect?
Most of the data NAA collects is used only to help us better serve our members and enhance the user experience. It is our general policy to collect and store only personal information that members and visitors knowingly provide. If our privacy policies change, we will notify users through email or via an announcement on our website.
From General Users
NAA does not collect any personal information from users browsing our website. Only aggregate data—such as the number of visits per page—is collected. This data is used solely for internal analysis and marketing purposes and does not identify individual users.
From NAA Members, Event Registrants, and Other Customers
To access members-only features on auctioneers.org or to register for events, users may be asked to provide limited personal information. This is done on a voluntary basis and may include name, member ID (if applicable), organization, business phone, and email address. Similar data may be provided via membership applications, event registrations, product orders, subscriptions, or contest entries.
For certain emails sent in HTML format (such as newsletters or announcements), NAA may track user engagement, such as clicks on included links. Data collected may include the user's email address, click time and date, message ID, and destination URL. This information is used only to improve our communications and offerings and is never sold or distributed in any other way.
How Does NAA Use the Data Collected?
NAA uses voluntarily submitted data in the following ways:
Member Services and Products
We use collected data to enhance website content, respond to user interests, and develop new member benefits, programs, and services.
Disclosures to Third Parties
NAA may include member contact information in its online Membership Directory (accessible to other members) and in printed directories provided to members and available for purchase. On occasion, NAA may also share limited data (e.g., name, job title, organization, and business address) with trusted third parties offering relevant services or products. Email addresses, business phone numbers, and fax numbers are not shared.
Users may opt out of such disclosures when submitting forms, via a checkbox provided, or by contacting NAA at naa@auctioneers.org or 913-541-8084.
Consent to Use Personal Information
In accordance with applicable data protection laws, NAA and its agents may store, process, and use personal information submitted through the website. If you reside in the European Union, you consent to the transfer and storage of your data outside the EU, including in the United States. This information may also be used for direct communication regarding NAA services or third-party offerings. Users may opt out of such communications at any time.
Credit Card Account Information
NAA does not disclose credit card information provided by members or customers. Payment details are securely transmitted to authorized payment processors as needed to complete transactions.
How Does NAA Use Cookies?
Cookies are small files placed on a user’s device by a web server to support session activity or retain settings between visits. NAA uses cookies to streamline navigation, save login details, track site usage, and tailor content. Cookies are not used to collect sensitive personal information.
Users may choose to disable cookies in their browsers, but this may limit functionality or require users to log in each time they visit the site.
