Professional Bio
Richard F. Kruse is Managing Partner of Gryphon USA, Ltd., leading a receivership group, commercial auction business, and multi-state real estate practice. Since 1998, he has specialized in complex legal, foreclosure, and insolvency matters, serving in diverse roles—receiver, interim manager, liquidating agent, asset purchaser, appraiser, broker, property manager, and auctioneer—on transactions exceeding $2 billion across North America.
Mr. Kruse has accepted court-appointed receivership assignments since 2003, managing assets from Washington, D.C., to California through sales and wind-down processes. A recognized industry authority, he presents regularly on distressed assets, insolvency, and auctions at professional seminars and has been featured in multiple media outlets.
His contributions to the profession include drafting new local receivership rules for Franklin County, Ohio (2011), assisting in statewide foreclosure law reforms (2016-present), and developing a proprietary workflow and online bidding platform for Private Selling Officer auctions. Named one of Business First's "Ones to Know in Real Estate" (2013), he was appointed by Governor John Kasich as Chairman of the Ohio Auctioneers Commission.
A PADI Open Water Instructor pursuing Master Scuba Diver Trainer certification, Mr. Kruse teaches diving in Ohio and Florida and guides dives in Clearwater and the Upper Keys.
He splits his time between Columbus, Ohio, and Tarpon Springs, Florida, with his wife, Melissa, and daughter, Savannah.
