Professional Valuation Specialist is new to Designation Academy in 2025!  

Gain the tools to speak confidently about value in today’s competitive marketplace with the Professional Valuation Specialist (PVS) designation - the next evolution in valuation education for the auction industry. Open to anyone working within an auction company, this course delivers a clear understanding of valuation principles, methodologies, and market dynamics without crossing into appraisal practice. You’ll learn to interpret market trends, evaluate personal property across categories, and communicate value effectively with clients, sellers, and buyers. By completing the program, you’ll strengthen your role as a trusted advisor, position yourself as a leader in valuation knowledge, and create new revenue opportunities, while also gaining a stepping stone toward advanced appraisal education.

Requirements to Earn the Designation

• Be a member of the NAA
• Register for and attend all 24 hours of the PVS designation class
• Once earned, to maintain the designation you must:
  • Be a member of the NAA
  • Pay the annual designation fee of $35 by October 31
  • Complete 24 hours of continuing education (CE) every three years
