Membership Is Still the Mission

Posted By: Allison Mazzei Association Updates, NAA,

Membership is not simply something NAA offers. It is the reason this organization exists.

At its core, the National Auction Association exists to support auction professionals, strengthen this industry, and create meaningful connections between the people who power it. That focus continues to guide the work we do every day.

Over the past year, we have worked intentionally to create more value for members in ways both visible and behind the scenes. We have developed strategic partnerships that provide direct benefits and savings to NAA members. We have expanded our social media presence to better promote auctioneers and spotlight the work happening across the industry. We have also conducted win-back efforts focused on reconnecting with auction professionals who drifted away from the organization because maintaining and rebuilding those relationships matters.

Just as importantly, we have spent time listening. Through surveys, conversations, and direct member feedback, we have worked to better understand what members value, where frustrations exist, and where NAA can improve. Those conversations have not been ignored. In several cases, member feedback has directly shaped organizational decisions and led to real-time changes, including, for example, the recent elimination of designation reinstatement fees.

We have also remained deeply committed to strengthening the programs members already trust and value. CAI continues to represent the gold standard in auction education, and we remain focused on ensuring those experiences continue to serve both current and future auction professionals at the highest level. As part of that commitment, we have worked to restructure the program in ways designed to reduce costs for new participants while expanding the overall educational experience and long-term value CAI provides.

But perhaps the most important thing we do is something much simpler. We connect auctioneers.

This industry has always been built on relationships. Long before algorithms, social platforms, and digital marketing strategies, auctioneer professionals built businesses through trust, referrals, mentorship, and professional connections. In many ways, that remains just as true today.

When members tell us the greatest value of NAA is the people they meet, the conversations they have, and the relationships they build, we pay attention. Creating opportunities for auction professionals to learn from one another, support one another, and grow together is not secondary to our mission. It is central to it.

Everything we do — education, events, advocacy, partnerships, leadership development, and communications — is designed to strengthen the professional network surrounding this industry and the people within it.

That commitment has not changed. If anything, it has only grown stronger.
